Mike Mathews
Softball Speciality: Hitting/slapping/fielding/catching/ recruiting
Coach Mike Mathews has been coaching and teaching baseball and softball for over 20 years. Currently he is the 16U Gold Head Coach & Recruiting Coordinator for the Iowa Blitz/Iowa Gold program where his primary focus is hitting development. Coach Mike has coached several players that have gone on to play at all levels from NAIA to NCAA Division 1.

Josh Kassmeyer
Softball Speciality: Player Development/Hitting/Fielding/Glove Care
Coach Josh has been a member of the Iowa Blitz since 2020. He has been coaching athletes since 2014. Coaching XC, Basketball, Football, Crossfit, and Softball. He is currently one of our 14U Coaches and also runs our Speed and Agility program. He is also know as the Des Moines Glove Doctor.

Katey Kassmeyer
Softball Speciality: Fielding
Coach Katey has been a member of the Iowa Blitz since 2020. She has been coaching softball for 10 years and has sent multiple athletes on to play at the collegiate level. She has coached 14U - 18U in our program over the last 5 years and is currently one of our 18U Coaches.
